Arabilis operates as a smallholder relationship manager working to ensure food security and health-demographic change for female and male Kenyan smallholders in the initial stage before they qualify for micro-finance. The target population is rural smallholders located in under-served regions with farms < 1-hectare.Arabilis has come to the conclusion that in order to increase access to food for vulnerable populations, proper farms must be established to ensure the hunger-aid cycle does not repeat. Arabilis has identified an impactful opportunity to innovate farming practices with hydroponics and other technologies that reduce climate risk, impacts of droughts, and help relieve the stress of COVID-19. By removing technology-access barriers through an innovative quasi-equity (profit participation) process, our projects can stabilize smallholder incomes and provide continuous low-cost food provisions to the surrounding areas.
