Archaeological Research Inc. (ARI) is a full-service cultural resource management firm. We specialize in all areas of archaeological and historical evaluations in compliance with federal and state regulations. Our staff assists our clients through various steps in the NEPA and Section 106 process. In addition we work with government and private groups on museum and tourism planning projects.Since its inception in 1991, ARI has completed surveys throughout the Midwest, including Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Arkansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma. ARI has experience in all phases of archaeological and historical investigations, data recovery and data recovery plans, Historic American Building Survey (HABS) and Historic American Engineering Record (HAER). ARI has been the lead firm on preservation planning and management project. Most recently, we have been involved in preservation management projects with the National Park Service and the Oklahoma Historical Society. This wide ranging experience affords the ARI staff an in-depth regional knowledge in addition to the flexibility to complete both large and small projects. In May of 1998, ARI opened a facility in Madison, Wisconsin, near the vast resources located at the University of Wisconsin and state government offices. ARI/Wisconsin houses technical resources which allow the professional staff there to complete survey and excavation projects as well as to maintain thoroughgoing communication with the main Chicago office and a large, local Wisconsin client base.
