Architectural [Field] Office is a Design & Research studio focusing on community driven issues relating to housing and the city. This emerges from our research interests within the exploration of fragmented sites, settlements & cities lying at thresholds of racial, ethnic and/or religious conflict.We design, teach , research, & publish on matters relating to architecture and urban design which inquire into equity for communities through : participatory & sustainable design; the articulation of local cultures and identities; local ownership by working with local partners and students. We are working on projects & research in Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Northern Ireland.
