Ardesko is a virtuosic, professional chamber orchestra based in Haarlem, the Netherlands, unique in its' approach to programming and diverse range of activities. The 15 string players which form the core of the orchestra are top professionals under the age of 35. The orchestra plays the majority of programes without conductor under the leadership of artistic director & concertmaster, Melanie Waite. Striving to reach as broad an audience as possible the orchestra performs music from all periods from baroque to contemporary and places great importance on innovative projects which break the mould of the traditional classical concert.Since the first concert series in February 2007 Camerata Ardesko has given concerts around the Netherlands with performances including cutting edge arts festivals such as the Grachtenfestival, prestigious events like the 2009 ABN AMRO New Year's concert, leading concert halls including the Amsterdam Concertgebouw and collaborations with internationally acclaimed artists like the Balanescu Quartet and Alessandro Safina.
