Its geographical scope extends primarily to the districts of Darbhanga, Madhubani, Saharsa and Muzaffarpur, while its main areas of intervention are education, arts & culture, and primary health.Being a Darbhanga based organization, with the Mithila region as its focus, it is named after an integral aspect of the Mithila culture, the Aripana – the floor drawings, the home art adorning Maithil homes. Aripana is an inseparable part of the Maithil people's lives, heralding new beginnings, auspiciousness, joy and celebration.
