Advanced Research Laboratories & Information Systems Corp., ARLIS, is currently engaged in two research projects: CPM (Cave Prediction Model) and SAD (Subsurface Anomaly Detection). The latter of the two is our primary focus and a submission to the NSF is currently being formulated; project scope/work are confidential.Using hyperspectral satellite imagery ARLIS will create a predictive model for potential cave locations which will be subsequently field-verified. Excluding known mine locations and documented caves with the Office of State Archaeology, ARLIS will surgically focus its efforts to document the archaeological and speleological attributes.Archaeological: The purpose is to locate caves that are NOT documented with the Office of State Archaeology (OSA) in an effort to discern their archaeological potential. ARLIS will document the site with the OSA if required.Speleological: The purpose is to locate caves NOT currently listed with pertinent speleological databases in an effort to record their attributes; including biology. In the absence of archaeological potential, the cave may be recorded with pertinent speleological databases for spelunkers.Environmental: The final purpose of this research is to locate bats suffering from white-nose syndrome.
