Armenian Association of Social Workers (AASW) Details
The Armenian Association of Social Workers (AASW) is the largest organization uniting social workers in Armenia.The AASW was founded in 2004 by the initiative of five social workers with professional education in social work. At the beginning, the official name of the organization was the Harmonic Society" Association of Social Workers.AASW is also a part of the International Family of Social Workers. Since 2005 it is a part of the International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW). Besides, starting from 2017 AASW has joined the International Council for Social Welfare (ICSW), another international organization uniting social workers to address complexities and challenges of social work.Since its foundation, AASW has been the professional platform for discussing developments in the field of social work and social protection. Up to now, through uniting the leading specialists in almost all the sub-sectors of social protection, from education to practice, AASW is acting as a leading think-thank and agenda-maker in the social protection field, in Armenia.Since 2018, the Association has been renamed and now the officia name of the organization is "Armenian Association of Social Workers" NGO.
