ARSOBO's mission is to provide medical devices, made by individuals who use the same device, to alleviate barriers and enhance the potential of those with a disabilityWHAT WE HAVE ACHIEVED - EIGHT YEARS OF ARSOBO 1. ARSOBO trained and hired 15 individuals with disabilities. 2. ARSOBO constructed more than 475 all-terrain wheelchairs (one-third customized for children with disabilities) and constructed many specially designed STROLLERS. 3. ARSOBO fabricated more than 530 prosthesis. 4. ARSOBO assessed the hearing of more than 1,000 individuals and distributed over 850 hearing aids. ARSOBO operates under three Principles:1. Train and then employ those who use the medical devices they build for others2. Charge for these devices but, only what the families can afford3. Work toward a sustainable ‘social business'ARSOBO developed sequentially in three phases:1. Create a shop that constructs durable wheelchairs designed for rough terrain2. Develop the capacity and expertise to build prosthesis and orthotics3. Implement a Hearing Health clinic to evaluate adults and children for hearing impairments and distribute appropriate low-cost hearing aids to those who need them
