ARTECON was formed early 2012 from within a group of soft pastel artists in the Yarra Valley (Victoria, Australia) and was driven by the relatively high prices for art supplies in Australia.The main objective of ARTECON is to promote and make art accessible for everyone at the lowest possible cost. We do this by forgetting about how business was done in the past when products found their way from manufacturers to consumers via expensive chains of importers, wholesalers and retailers. ARTECON has substantially shortened the supply chain and works with a minimum overhead. This means that we can provide products considerably cheaper compared to traditional retail.We don't have large warehouses with expensive stock and we only sell online. This means not only lower costs but also complete availability of the manufacturer's products and the latest versions of products. This means that a substantial part of our products will be send from overseas once ordered. For last mentioned products it takes about three to four weeks to arrive in our Australian office as combined order batches and get ready for sending to our customers via domestic postal services. Note that this eliminates the need for expensive international couriers.If you want to see the physical product(s) first and/or need your product(s) within a couple of days then traditional retail will most likely be a better option if you can justify the price difference. However if you know what you are after and you can wait a little for the products to arrive from overseas then ARTECON can and will provide you with substantial savings.Don't take our word for it, just compare our prices.
