Civic & Social Organization - Boise, ID, United States
Founded in Boise in 2003, ArtFaire has provided free after school and summertime art education and public art activities to over 14,000 local youth through growing partnerships with organizations like Boy & Girls Clubs of Ada County and Canyon County, the Idaho Youth Ranch's Hays Shelter, the International Rescue Committee, Title I schools and local organizations. ArtFaire programs provide a positive outlet during at-risk times for approximately 2500 elementary and high school students each year who have little or no access to the arts or other extra-curricular activities.ArtFaire is a publicly funded charity supported by generous individuals and local businesses dedicated to building better communities. Thank you to all of our many volunteers and supporters, you make what we do possible! With your help, ArtFaire teens learn about community involvement and develop civic pride through participation in public art projects for organizations throughout the Treasure Valley such as the Interfaith Sanctuary, the Good Samaritan Home, Hope's Door, and the Treasure Valley Midwife's Center, among others.Your donation enables ArtFaire kids to participate in 3-6 week long visual and performing arts classes and engage in positive and creative activities in safe environments during at-risk hours. Exposure to this valuable developmental resource benefits students in areas beyond creativity, such as math and reading comprehension, and may assist in closing the achievement gap.Through your support these programs are provided free of charge in order to reach those local youth who need it most.
