ARTISAN GROUP ("Artisan") is a real estate investment and asset management company focused on investment, development and management of hospitality and residential real estate in capital and gateway cities in Emerging Asia. Artisan was founded by Ronald Howe who has over 25 years experience in Asian private equity and venture capital investment, asset management, and investment banking.Artisan's initial portfolio interests are in Vietnam and include Villa Song Saigon, an upscale boutique hotel in prime District 2 of Ho Chi Minh City, which was redeveloped and reopened in December 2013. Villa Song is presently ranked #1 among over 360 hotels in Saigon by Tripadvisor.The firm's work involves the restoration of land, buildings and lives with renewed purpose. Artisan is an active lead investor involved from acquisition through design development and asset management phases of a project. Artisan engages with the communities it serves through employment and development of local talent, local sourcing, and poverty reduction programs especially for widows and orphans.Ronald has held a number of senior management positions with leading Asian institutions. He was managing director and head of the private equity and venture capital business of DBS Bank, formerly a director for regional corporate finance with Jardine Fleming Group (merged with J.P. Morgan), and was a board member and executive director of Schroders Asia (acquired by Citibank). He was most recently advisor and CEO of the property group of Rajawali Corporation of Indonesia and led the strategic development of its real estate portfolio of 11 properties across the Asia Pacific which include the Four Seasons and St. Regis in Jakarta, St. Regis Resort in Bali, Westin Langkawi and Marriott Gold Coast.
