Gallery Afterdaan and Artivo are specialised in graphic creations of wishes.The starter of the company is Ivo Winnubst, painter and graphic designer, born in Amsterdam, 1950. has a fascination for ''the Other Portrait''.He studied at the Rietveld Art Academy in Amsterdam from 1972 until 1977 where he, among other things, received tuition from well known artists such as: Piet Klaasse and Herman Gordijn. Piet Klaasse made him understand the power of the lines and Herman Gordijn taught him how to portray the character and expression of a person by using the traditional way of oil painting techniques with the help of glazing and uplifting of the colour ''white''. The acquired knowledge from these two knowledgeable artists has been slumbering in Ivo's art works for a long time and has only become more pronounced in his work during recent years in a surprising and courageous form of expression. ''Human Figures Frozen'' is therefore the self chosen collective name for this way of expression. Quasi posed works based on accidental meetings. A girl at a traffic light in Antwerpen, a homeless but proud street cleaner and an old man on the inner court of a care institution caught in the moment and immortalized in a particular mix of oil, acrylic paint and conté.
