ArtyCrafts eco-friendly notebooks are made using recycled paper. The paper is made with a mix of 75% post-consumer waste ( waste paper, milk cartons, newspapers, magazines, printed products) and 25% pre-consumed waste ( printing scraps and trimmings) this means that no virgin paper fibres are used. What's more, the paper is process chlorine-free (PCF). This method does not use chlorine to bleach paper which significantly reduces the amount of harmful waste released by the paper making process. ArtyCrafts' notebooks are also vegan. Animal glue, leather or any other animal-based product is not used in the book binding process. Sithmini, the artist behind the brand, is based in Sydney but originally from Sri Lanka. She is dedicated to preserving the traditional methods of book binding by creating fun, ethical and sustainable stationery. Every notebook is designed and handcrafted by Sithmini in her home studio in Sydney.
