Asean Investment Management is a boutique investment management group that focuses on unearthing deep value investment opportunities, predominantly across Asia. We search for assets that are deeply undervalued as a group, driven by overall irrational market negativity. Our aim is to maintain a high margin of safety through discounted entry points, and to constantly promote value enhancing corporate actions, in cooperation with the management of the companies we invest in. Asean IM was founded in 2005 by Mr David P O'Neil and Mr David E Roes who have more than 30 years of combined experience of exploiting consistent inefficiencies across Asian equity markets. At present the country of our focus is Vietnam, which we expect to become a material outperformer in the region over the next several years. Our Fund, the ASEAN Deep Value Fund, is an equity-focused Asia ex-Japan fund seeking out deep value entry points to take advantage of under-researched, deep value themes and companies. Incorporating a thematic approach, the Fund targets exceptional returns of 20-30% per annum.
