Ashtree Marine grew out of the Ashtree Partnership.The Ashtree Partnership are a software design and development company based in rural Surrey. Since its inception in 2007 the Ashtree Partnership has specialised in building data solutions for small companies.One of the partners was looking for some software to work out why his yacht wasn't winning races. Though there we a lot of sophisticated chart plotters on the market there didn't seem to be anything that would allow him to carry out the classic data analysis that the partners were doing in other areas. Drag the data out of the Navigation and GPS system then allow him to manipulate the data in a proper analysis tool like Excel.The partner starting reading up on NMEA data standards and before long the concepts that lie behind Ashtree Marines NMEA Data Collection software have been formed.After two years hard graft the product you see described on these pages was ready to take to the battle field that is big boat sailing.Going forward Ashtree Marine will be aiming to develop the NMEA Data Collection technology.
