ATEC's mission is to create the pre-eminent annual university alumni club sponsored technology conference and startup competition in Asia focused on next generation technology and startups affiliated with our alumni club organizers with regional and global ambitions.Founded by the Hong Kong and South China university and business school alumni clubs of Harvard, Columbia, MIT and Stanford, ATEC has created an event that fosters active engagement of our alumni either as startup founders, mentors or investors (both individual and institutional).We believe technology and entrepreneurship are key pillars in value creation and are deeply rooted in the brands of the universities that our founding alumni clubs represent. We want to create an event that is synonymous with technology and entrepreneurship and a competition that is able to attract the most promising startups affiliated with our alumni club organizers with regional/global ambitions and the leading angel and VC investors in the region. While 2019 was the first year of ATEC and we drew well over 400 attendees, ATEC was actually created as a merger of the Harvard Business School Association of Hong Kong Annual Startup Competition which had been running since 2015 and the Columbia University Asia Technology Conference which was started in 2018.ATEC is a non-profit organization and all net proceeds from the event go to annual prize money for the startup competition.
