Asian Advocates is a youth/student lead organization that established to give voice to the Asian community and shine light on all the cultural achievements the community brought forth. We do this by the system of inform, respond, and empower. Inform: We're here to inform everyone about the real Asian community to allow people to further know us, past the stereotypes, and misleading information. The Asian community holds so much more than what we are known for. We may be great at math or have an aim to be a doctor, lawyer, or engineer one day, however, there is still so much to discover about us. The inform department is to help educate the people with news, events, and culture about the Asian community.Respond: We're here to respond and stop the hate and racism that targets the Asian community. A big part of helping to build a community is to take action and call out the harm that the community is being treated with, so we must stand up for one another through our method of responding. The responding department will respond to hate comments, news articles, and posts that regard the Asian community. Empower: We're here to empower the people of our community to take action for what they believe in and help end hate and racism. Action and initiative must be taken in order to create a change. The empower department finds opportunities that will allow people to take action to create a change and display works of others who have responded to help the Asian community.
