ASSICA, Associazione Industriali delle Carni e dei Salumi is the Italian national association that, as part of Confindustria, represents companies coming from raw meat and deli meats production (processed products of beef and pork) and pigs slaughtering. As one of its purposes, the activity of ASSICA covers several areas, including the definition of an economic sector policy, information and service to Association Members concerning economical, health, technical, regulatory, legal and trade unions matters.Main aims and activities of the Association are:- To represent the member companies in dealing with institutions, with economical, political, labor and social organizations;- To protect the member companies on the economical, legal, labor and tax law;- To organize surveys and studies, debates and conferences on economy, health, law and social aspects about their business;- To protect the production and the image of meat products (mainly from pig);- To communicate activities for the benefit and in the interests of member companies;- To provide for the appointment and the nominee of their representatives to institutions, committees and organizations where representation is required;- To mantain relations with national and EU institutions;- To spread economical data, with the identification and subsequent timely dissemination of domestic and foreign prices, market trends and amount of trade.
