Mission:We, the students of the University of California, Merced, as an independent body, do ordain and establish this Constitution in order to provide an efficient and equal representation for the expression of students' views, clarity of opinions, and interests in recognition of the rights of the students in this university community; to encourage effective student participation by providing services and coordinating activities; to support, promote and celebrate the diversity of culture, lifestyle, and beliefs for the breadth of ideas and perspectives they bring; to advance the development of leaders that will serve and make a difference in the present and future; and to promote the general educational welfare and enhancement of the academic benefits and opportunities offered for the continued success of the students of the University of California, Merced.About:The Associated Students of the University of California, Merced (ASUCM) is the undergraduate student government of UC Merced and it derives its power from the UC Office of the President, UC Merced Office of the Chancellor and the ASUCM Constitution.Modeled after the United States Federal Government, the ASUCM consists of an executive, legislative and judicial branch. The mission of the ASUCM is to improve student life at UC Merced.Associated Students are here for the students!We want to hear their concerns and questions.
