WHO WE AREThe Association For The Welfare Of The Adult Deaf - AWAD established in august 1961 under the dynamic leadership of late Muhammad Yaqoob Butt (retired deputy secretary government of Pakistan) and registered on 19th October 1963 with the government of west, Pakistan in the year 1963 wide registration no. DSW/167 of 1963, from Lahore under voluntary social welfare agencies (registration & control) ordinance 1961 (xlvi of 1961).AIMS AND OBJECTIVES* To provide a common meeting place for the Deaf.* To provide recreation facilities for Deaf.* To improve their speech & knowledge.* To adopt measures for their welfare.* To impart social and technical education* To provide free medical facilities.* To assist and encourage them to secure gainful employment.* To rehabilitate them in their life.* To provide shelters to them.* To encourage friendly feelings and unanimity among the Deaf* On all subjects connected with their common well.* To secure organized action on all subjects relating to the interest of the Deaf.* To collect disseminate statistical and other information and educate people in the matter of special people (Deaf).* To help (Deaf) special people regarding government policies which beneficial for them.* To promote encouragement and render and possible help among skilled special persons (Deaf) and formulate schemes for the purpose in order to relieve unemployment.* To convince in remains and conferences at such places and time as deemed may determine from time to time.* To amalgamate or affiliate with any institute or association having objects altogether or in part similar to those of thus welfare association.
