Family businesses are the backbone of the economy in Kenya and account for more than three quarters of employment in the country. The Association is the first of its kind in Kenya and aims to build a membership network of businesses that are representative of the family businesses in Kenya.The Association of Family Business Enterprises (AFBE) is registered by the Register for societies under the Society rule number, 4 of 1968 with the registration NO 46529AFBE is a member based, independent, non-governmental and non-political association run by and for Family business owners. These owners experience unique challenges when running their businesses. The Association aims to give its members a forum for exchange of knowledge and experiences and a platform for engagement and support.
