The Association of Independent Directors of India's (AIDI) principle objective is to focus on advancing sterling board leadership, establishing leading boardroom practices and safeguarding the interests of the Independent Directors both in public and private enterprises. AIDI's aims to provide a forum for existing directors for advocacy, networking and expert support and a platform to aspiring business leaders and young professionals for getting groomed for future Board roles. AIDI's mission is to promote ideal corporate governance framework by integrating values such as: Accountability, Excellence, Foresight, Teamwork &Innovation and Integrity, by training, research, building awareness, sharing best practices and becoming the voice of Independent Directors. By proactively creating and establishing this platform--AIDI envisages the vision of creating high standards of ethical, moral and professional conduct and their application in corporate governance. AIDI aims to build a vast network of trusted experts who work together to create innovative solutions for encouraging transparency, responsible decision making process and holding directors accountable for their actions. AIDI aspires to provide world-class director education programs, national peer-exchange forums, and proprietary research to promote director professionalism, ultimately enhancing the economic sustainability of the enterprise and bolstering stakeholder confidence. It further intends to represent the issues of independent directors in the appropriate forum. In addition, its target is to create and maintain the data bank of the potential & board ready candidates for the position of Independent Directors.
