The Association of Museologists of Catalonia is a non-profit cultural association that brings together professionals from museums and the cultural heritage of Catalonia. It is structured in four territorial sections and various work commissions, and represents a large number of professionals in the sector. The AMC was founded in 1995 and integrated the Association of Museologists of the Counties of Girona and the group of Museologists of the College of Doctors and Graduates of Catalonia, as well as the experience of the Association of Museum Workers of Catalonia, created in 1982. The AMC today acts as the interlocutor of the sector before the administrations and is present at the consultative bodies linked to the management of assets. It develops a wide range of training and reflection activities, culminating in its publishing production, with the edition of the Manuals de Museologia collection and the Mnemósine magazine. Since 2005, the AMc promotes the Museology Awards AMC, awards that recognize the excellence of the projects developed by the museums and the paths of museologists and museologists in Catalonia.
