The initial concept of ASTRO began in 2005 when the 4 founding members of a growing commercial brokerage found themselves spending exorbitant amounts of time on managing the brokerage instead of focusing on deals. At the time the firm was being managed via excel spreadsheets, and Microsoft Access databases. Commissions were being processed via a paper voucher system and marketing collateral was being requested by walking up to the desk of staff. The founder's found themselves trying to answer the question,"How can we profitably leverage technology to improve service to agents while saving our firm time and money?"The answer was ASTRO. A web based application designed to streamline the back-office processes that go into running a brokerage and to provide tools to agents that enables them to operate more efficiently and spend more time doing deals. ASTRO today is the product of nearly 5 years of evolution that has been heavily driven through feedback of over 50 commercial real estate brokers. The application is cloud based and available from anywhere with an internet connection. As ASTRO matured the founding partners wanted to share this technology but at a price point that was reasonable.
