The home of the GEM Performance Tuning The GEM Performance Tune, is the process of tuning your mount to maximize it's performance from an imaging or demanding visual perspective. The basic process consists of dissassembly, thourough cleaning and degreasing, deburring and polishing gears, then the re-lube of the internals and gears with a special Astrotroniks hybrid blend synthetic lube. Wrapped up with final assembly and optimal adjustments. Astrotroniks, however goes deeper during the cleaning, and inspection process. Ocasionally gears and components are found to be grossly out of adjustment, and even have mishapen teeth in their gearing. We carefully inspect, and document the conditions of the mounts components, and in most cases are able to, using our masterful skill correct defects in the gears such as mishapen teeth, and squarness issues on shafts. Often the mount significantly benefits from just the simple cleaning and relubrication process with optimal adjustment. The results achieved from an Astrotroniks Performance Tuned mount are superior.
