Education Management - , New York, United States
Beginning with the cultivation of an equity mindset, anti-bias training, and an unswerving focus on academic excellence, ATAPE Group supports educators and their partners to believe in the unlimited potential of all children. But, we don't stop there. We create equity focused learning opportunities that foster student, teacher, and leader skill and capacity so they can translate their beliefs and drive into improved student outcomes. Equity focused professional learning supports educators in their quest to provide the best educational experiences so that all students, particularly students who are academically behind and who have not yet experienced academic success, are successful. Equity focused professional learning allows educators and their partners to: -Learn about implicit bias, racism, and structural inequities and explore the connections to school contexts-Reflect on their own school experience and fill in gaps learning -Collaborate with their colleagues to plan culturally relevant and rigorous student learning experiences-Gain support and the will to do whatever is necessary to change the trajectory of poor student achievement Equity focused educational experiences are particularly necessary for students of color, students whose first language is other than English and students whose lives are affected by concentrated poverty but important for all students so that they -See themselves and their lives reflected in the curriculum, -Engage in learning that will ensure that they are confident in their identity, -Participate in rigorous and relevant learning experiences that lead to academic success and -Experience motivation to learn and create change in their community and our society. Our work is framed around four constructs—the cultivation of an equity mindset, an empowering culture of learning for students and adults, culturally relevant, rigorous literacy learning and data-based learning, strategy and results.
