The Ateneo Chemistry Society (ACheS) is the home organization of chemistry students and chemistry enthusiasts in the Ateneo. In contrast to most science organizations that pride themselves in academic excellence, ACheS focuses on utilizing chemistry as a tool towards progressive nation-building. As such, its core competencies are comprised of two main parts: Awareness and Appreciation for Chemistry (AAC) and Social Application of Chemistry (SAC). ACheS has its doors open for everyone who share the same passion for a community that promotes chemistry as a catalyst for social change and development. As a project-based organization, ACheS strives to challenge its members to utilize chemistry outside of the classroom setting as a means for social change. At the same time, these projects serve as an avenue for its members to directly serve its partner communities and beneficiaries. Among these projects, the organization prides itself in its main flagship projects, the Ateneo Chemistry Olympiad (AChO), Build-A-Lab (BAL), and Kimikamahika (KKM). All of which serve directly serve partner communities and schools to promote Chemistry education and appreciation among the youth.
