The Atlanta Food & Wine Festival debuted in May 2011 as the first culinary weekend in the country focused exclusively on showcasing the rich food and beverage traditions of the Southern U.S. In its first three years, the Atlanta Food & Wine Festival (AF&WF) has positioned itself as one of the most instructive, best run and generously provisioned culinary weekends in the country. With the input and guidance of the Festival's esteemed Advisory Council of the region's best culinary talents, the Festival offers a weekend of Learning Experiences (tasting seminars, demonstrations, panel discussions), Tasting Experiences (tasting tents), Dinners & Events (themed restaurant dinners and parties) all carefully created to showcase the rich food and beverage traditions of the South from Texas to the District of Columbia. The Festival also celebrates "other Southern" regions around the globe like South Africa, South America, Southern Europe, etc. whose flavors have become favorites in Southern kitchens.
