Atlantic County Canines was incorporated in 2003 to help senior and special needs animals in Southern New Jersey. We focus primarily on the animals that don't get adopted in shelter situations because they are elderly or require extra care. We like to think of ourselves as both a rescue and a retirement home; ideally we aim to find our dogs forever homes outside our organization, but sometimes we end up keeping them with us at the "Old Geezer Farm." We are a small rescue that is nearly entirely volunteer driven. Our main goal is to pull animals from shelters with the intention of placing them into homes locally that are well-suited to their individual needs. Sometimes, however, that just isn't possible and so we end up keeping them Thus, the Old Geezer Farm.The OG Farm is a private foster space (retirement home) for the misfits and the tough ones. Mostly the OGs spend their days on comfy beds or the couches in the Lounge, mingling with one another as they please. There is a fenced area just outside for easy potty access and acres of land on which they are treated to walks when the weather permits. They're also taken on day trips to PawDazzle Pet Bakery and Boutique of Smithville. We do our utmost to ensure it's a good life for the OGs with 24 hours a day, seven days a week care.
