Atlantic University College is a nonprofit educational institution located in Guaynabo City, Puerto Rico. It is the first and only university level institution in this city. It is located in a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere. It serves as a home to one of the historical buildings in the area, right next to the Mayor's Office and in front of the Church, an area surrounded with historical memories and the influence of Spanish architecture. Atlantic University College emerges as a response to the need of a higher education institution in a community with a growing demand for specialized professional services and highly educated personnel. At the same time that it offers educational opportunities, Atlantic University College strives to offer its students an affectionate climate, which allows them to evolve into individuals and professionals with a very high level of integrity. The institution has assumed the commitment to offer an education, which promotes excellence in all levels: academically, socially and culturally. Atlantic University College was founded in 1983 by Coronel Ramón M. Barquín and Dr. Teresa de Dios Unanue. The study system works on a trimester basis, and it counts with all the federal financial aids available, if the student qualifies.
