Concrete structures tend to develop cracks over time, but the polymer fibers used by AtlantisFiber™are bridging the cracks as they form, helping protect the structure and making it last longer. We can do this because we have discovered that the extracted fibers form a structural bond within the concrete mixture for added strength, longevity, and a host of anti-cracking performance properties.Though fiber reinforced concrete is not a new concept in the concrete industry, our novel approach - which incorporates a problematic waste stream from one industry (tire industry) and converts it into a value-added, performance-enhancing additive in another – creates a significant win/win for both industries by simultaneously improving their respective environmental impacts.
