Atlas of Caregiving envisions a world where caregiving is valued and supported as fundamental to a healthy society. The nonprofit is pioneering research about family caregiving, combining ethnography with the latest sensor and data technologies to develop actionable insights and practical tools to make caregiving easier and more effective. We know that there are tens of millions of family caregivers in the United States, numbers which are expected to increase dramatically in the next decade. These caregivers provide the majority of the 'care' in healthcare, and their impact on society is substantial. But what do we really know about them? What do they do? How do they manage? Who cares for them? And, how might we truly support them? From our beginnings as an innovative pilot project funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, to our current studies exploring and enabling care ecosystems and caregiver wellbeing, our focus is on providing the quantitative and qualitative data that leads to a meaningful understanding of the complexities of family caregiving. We hope to spark awareness, strengthen caregivers and their communities, and inform the entrepreneurs, institutions, policymakers and others who impact the lives of family caregivers. We welcome you to Atlas of Care!
