Rufus was the founder of and, until recently, the CEO of Open Knowledge International, one of the most experienced organizations working on open data worldwide. Founded in 2004 Open Knowledge International has helped create standards, develop communities and build a wide variety of tools and platforms including the CKAN data portal software. He led teams which have built and launched data portals for the United Kingdom, the United States, the European Union, Sweden, Northern Ireland, Southern Australia, Singapore and others.
