Auksano Trauma Therapy Centre was founded by Johan de Beer (former SAPS co-ordinator of the Occult related Crime Unit in the Free State) in 1997. Auksano was registered as a non-profit organisation with the Department of Social Development in 1999 and delivers its service nationally. MISSION STATEMENT: Long-term Christian support and therapy to victims of destructive sub-cultures as well as the empowerment of society through the transfer of knowledge. These sub-cultures involve activities such as Substance abuse, Vampirism, Cyber- or physical bullying, Self-mutilation, Satanism and/or "witchcraft". Auksano view the holistic well-being of the victim as vital for sustained optimal functioning in society and therefore address the clients' physical, emotional and spiritual faculties during the therapy process. These clients are gradually guided back to a place where life will have meaning again and where joy is a reality. The empowerment aspect of the MISSION is done by means of lectures, talks, workshops, seminars, media articles as well as a quarterly magazine distributed nationally to specific institutions and donours. Auksano has 3 focus areas, namely Trauma, Substance Abuse and the Occult.
