I was sober-curious for a few years before I took the leap into a sober lifestyle. I felt lost and lonely in my early sobriety. The stigma behind all the mental health labels, from addiction to substance abuse caused me a lot of anxiety. I didn't fall under a specific label but society is quick to label you. This started out as this idea of opening up a non-alcoholic bar, but I didn't want to just stop there — which led to my vision to create a sober space built with intention and purpose.My purpose is to build authentic connections within the community. I believe that in order to heal we must surrender, be open-minded, and be vulnerable. Share our stories and struggles, in whichever way that feels right for us. I want to redefine sobriety. Being sober to me means mental clarity and freedom, being fully present. This is how Aura Elixir was born, it's a sober safe space for everyone to come to reinvent themselves with like-minded individuals without judgment.Sobriety and healing are not linear and no one has to go through this journey alone. Birthed from a space of healing and sobriety, Aura Elixir provides a space that serves booze-free drinks, teas, and cacao — where all is welcome to come as they are and as a collective of individuals from all walks of life; together we will grow, learn and heal as a community.AURA ELIXIR MEANING— Aura: a sensation, quality or atmosphere that can be generated by a person, thing, or place.— Elixir: miraculous, magical and mysterious; an elixir is a sweet substance or solution that cures the problem at hand, can be referred to as a liquid, concept or plan.
