Auslec was created when several companies that sell industrial electrical equipment joined together. These companies include RG Panks, Elanco, WG Watsons, Austral Lighting, Gerard & Goodman, and Electrical House. In the 1980s, a company called Pacific Dunlop bought these companies, along with Lawrence & Hansen, to offer customers a complete solution for their electrical needs. They renamed the group Auslec. Later, a Dutch company called Hagemeyer N.V, which is a global business-to-business distribution and services group, bought Pacific Dunlop's Electrical Group in Australia. Hagemeyer Australia was then bought by Sonepar in 2008. Despite these changes, Auslec has continued to provide high-quality industrial products and services to its customers. Today, Auslec has 29 branches across the country, supported by a sophisticated logistics system that ensures customers get what they need when they need it.
