To engage the Australian business community in Myanmar and the Myanmar business community with Australian connections and interests. AustCham Myanmar (formerly the Australia-Myanmar Business Group) was established in July 2013 with the support of the Embassy and Austrade following a business round table in Yangon with Foreign Minister Bob Carr. AustCham Myanmar is fully registered as an association in Myanmar. (1) To be friends among one another persons from two countries, the producers, importers, exporters, distributors and vendors to communicate for the emergence of the business opportunities and to negotiate and cooperate with the organization related to the government department. (2) Promote, foster, support and represent the interests of Australian businesses. (3) To promote business and social interaction between local members, members of other association locally and elsewhere in Asia-Pacific Region. (4) Liaise with the Myanmar Government, its agencies, and other government bodies on issues of concern to Members. (5) De jure, the laws promulgated by State, to help or support to be in accordance with the existing laws, for buying the goods from Australia and exporting the goods produced in Myanmar to Australia. (6) Promote business and social interaction with visitors to Myanmar having interests relevant to Members.
