The 48 Hour Film Project is a wild and sleepless weekend in which you and a team make a movie - write, shoot, edit and score - in just 48 hours. The 48HFP is the world's oldest and largest timed filmmaking competition and the fastest route to the Cannes Film Festival! It's all about creativity and fun. It's also about community. Started in D.C. in 2001, and now in over 120 countries across the globe, Austin was one of the earliest adopters, launching in 2002. Since 2015, Austin has hosted TWO projects -- the main, multi-genre project (usually in early June), and another project in the Fall focused on a specific genre. SciFi and Horror seem to be the favorites, but who knows what else we might play with?
