Australian and New Zealand Revit Standards (ANZRS) Details
The Australian and New Zealand Revit Standards (ANZRS) initiative was commenced following a lengthy and passionate discussion that took place at the Revit Technology Conference in Melbourne, during June of 2009. The primary issue was the lack of quality and usefulness of the Revit content that was available at the time, from either Autodesk (i.e. shipped with the software and/or available from the Autodesk website), or commercial content creators. It was suggested that content available from external sources (whether shared or sold) had not yet provided what the industry representatives at the conference needed. While Revit content was largely something firms were responsible for themselves, it was felt that Autodesk (or some other party) should be doing more to solve the duplication of effort that was overwhelming many of those present.A team of key stakeholders was assembled to formally address the issue. This team included representatives from design firms and content creators. Following the conference, a Wiki site ('AUSBIM') was established that would allow continued contribution from a broader base of stakeholders. These have been incorporated within the summary works of ANZRS (which is why the AUSBIM site is no longer accessible).VISIONThe vision for the initiative is that these standards and best practises can be adopted by content creators throughout Australia and New Zealand.
