Australian Hearts exists to raise awareness on the 33,000 Australians who die due to sudden cardiac arrest. And we want to do something about it. Starting by putting defibrillators in the places we work, live and play. If we could put a defibrillator on the chest of these people within three minutes, thousands would survive. Currently, there are very few workplaces or homes that have Automatic External Defibrillators. And a very few AEDS that are visible and available in public places. We feel like Australia can do better. We insist on every workplace, and most living spaces to have a fire extinguisher but no AED. Yet tens of thousands die from Sudden Cardiac Arrest, while there are only less than a hundred fatalities caused by fire each year. We're raising ambassadors to take our message into our workplaces and before our lawmakers. We're looking for great Aussie companies, big and small, to put AEDs in their workplaces, especially if they can make them publically available too. We want to see 90% of Australians live within three minutes of an AED. Because every Australian deserves a second chance at life.
