The School of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences (SECMS) is at the very heart of delivering on the mission of developing graduates for that changing world both now and into the future.The Department of Built Environment Engineering (BEE) is a new addition to SECMS. We have rapidly developed and delivered a wide range of leading construction and related programmes over recent years. BEE is now the fastest growing department in the fastest growing school in the fastest growing university in the country. BEE is at the tip of the spear, leading the charge towards the future of both AUT and of the construction industry in New Zealand.Our graduates ultimately define our success. Our programmes have been developed in order to reflect the needs of both students and industry. SECMS in general – and BEE in particular – has a strong research pedigree. All of our academics are active in research with growing research profiles across a spectrum of capabilities. Indeed current research is wide ranging covering a broad spectrum of built environment subject matter, including active work in Building Information Modelling, Sustainable & Green Developments, Intelligent Structures, Healthy Buildings, Construction Health & Safety, Future Smart Cities, Structural Engineering, Earthquake Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Construction Management, Geotechnical Engineering, Productivity, Prefabrication, Structural Health Monitoring, Construction Logistics, Architectural Design, Immersive Environments, Modelling & Simulation, etc..
