Our mission is to increase and broaden public knowledge and awareness of the behaviors, social issues and emotional needs of individuals on the autism spectrum so that all individuals can participate in and contribute to our community without fear or bias or loss of individuality.Autism Advocates of Indiana is an awareness and fundraising organization. The main fundraising events are the annual "Answers for Autism Walk" held in September and the "Answers for Autism Golf Outing" held in July. Other fundraising events include Autism Awareness Day with the Indianapolis Indians and Autism Awareness Day with the Indiana Pacers. Proceeds from these events help Indiana families touched by autism in many ways. Since 2001, Autism Advocates of Indiana has been able to contribute $205,000 to national research and $294,430.52 in grants to community organizations across Indiana that provide programming or supports for individuals with autism. The Answers for Autism Grant Program accepts grant request that are consistent with its mission. Grants from non-profit organizations will be considered in two categories: Public Awareness Program and Individual and/or Family Support Program.
