Autism Compass training is a 6 session programme, designed specifically as ongoing learning with information and practical exercises to compliment the education. Schools and teachers have access via their annual subscription to a wealth of resources and support which can be shared amongst all staff.• The programme runs over 6 sessions throughout a year and can be started at any time• No waiting for a course to run• It can be used for single or multiple staff alike• Training is applied "on the job" no supply cover is necessary for staffAutism Compass bridges the gaps between diagnosis, school and home life with education, support and training. The programme upskills teachers in order that they feel confident to cater for the needs of Autism. After delivering this programme to Browick Road Primary and Nursery School - Wymondham, Norfolk, a teacher gave this insightful feedback, "why didn't I get a course of this quality and depth when I was being trained to be a teacher?"Integration and inclusion are becoming words that imply people with disabilities need to be changed in order to stay in a mainstream setting. Current thinking has, and thankfully is evolving further to challenge and change this assumption. Statistics tell us that one person in 60 is on the autism spectrum, and schools and our wider education system needs to adapt and cater for all.
