Automy Inc. develops software and hardware for self-driving cars based on new and innovative ideas. Our products and in-house technology are created from scratch designed for optimal performance and efficiency.Besides working on a full-stack solution for self-driving cars we also turn select components into their own products for sale. The first of which is the core of our system called VNX, a middleware solution which allows us to develop new functionality at a very fast pace while also keeping our hardware requirements at a minimum.Our latest milestone included a self-diving Kia Soul EV which we modified and equipped with our controller, a stereo camera pair, a LIDAR sensor and our software stack. A demonstration video available here shows our car driving itself on a parking lot without any prior knowledge such as a map or predefined path, instead our system follows a path defined in real-time by the 3D environment such as to avoid obstacles and harsh maneuvers. This is the first step in developing a sensor-based self-driving car which does not rely on costly high definition maps, an approach that will lead us to a profitable self-driving car product, contrary to most of our competitors including Waymo, GM/Cruise, Drive.ai, Zoox, Uber and Baidu.
