The AUVSI (http://www.auvsi.org/) is the world's largest nonprofit organization devoted exclusively to advancing the unmanned systems and robotics community. Serving members from the government organizations, industry, and academia, AUVSI is committed to fostering, developing, and promoting unmanned systems and robotics technologies. AUVSI members support the defense, civil, and commercial sectors. AUVSI Tampa is a Satellite Chapter of the Florida Peninsula Chapter (http://www.auvsi.net/floridapeninsulachapter/home) of AUVSI. The Tampa Satellite Chapter will focus on building awareness and dialogue about unmanned systems among the region's defense, civil, commercial, academic, and governmental sectors. This new chapter will work with military and state and local law enforcement officials on how to help facilitate commercial robotics companies continue to serve the community. Further, the chapter will engage with other community partners such as academic institutions, to foster greater learning and awareness of unmanned vehicles and explore solutions that benefit the community. The Tampa satellite is strategically located to draw support from the greater Tampa Bay area and other metropolitan areas along Florida's southwest coast.
