Av Norden's mission is to improve the sustainability of the US fashion industry by bringing Nordic childrenswear to retailers in the United States. Av Norden does this by partnering with ecologically conscious apparel companies from Nordic countries. Av Norden supports client goals by offering on-the-ground support in Scandinavia, as well as a roadmap for US market entry and success.Av Norden started with brother and sister team, Jenny: a fashion industry veteran and Brooklyn-based mother, and Jeff: a Helsinki-based business-oriented father. Together, they noticed that key staples of Nordic childrenswear were a missing piece in the landscape of childrenswear in the US. They set out to make that change. Parents are looking for designer products made from sustainable and ecological materials, and produced through an ethical labor supply chain. There is a rapidly growing demand for organic cotton, merino wool and other natural fabrics with practical care methods. Consumers are willing to pay for ecologically-produced clothing that will stand the test of time.
