Aveneu seeks to transform the subletting market, providing short-term (2-12 months) affordable housing options to students, nomads, and young professionals. Through the development of a subletting marketplace and an ecosystem of subletting services, Aveneu hopes to simplify the subletting process and expand the market by providing a reliable trustworthy partner.Co-founder Draden was hired at a startup in Las Vegas. He had only a few weeks to find an apartment and to navigate the housing ecosystem of Las Vegas. He ran out of time and already found himself on a flight to Vegas. Unable to find housing, he found himself in the Las Vegas airport messaging people on Roomster. Eventually, he was able to discover a lease and move in. In his earlier experience working in Queenstown, New Zealand, he faced similar struggles and had to stay at a hostel for over a week until he found his residence. Co-founder Jacob was hired at a startup in Berlin. At the time he searched for housing, he was working in Los Angeles. Having already struggled extensively to find an affordable sublet close to his job in Los Angeles, he started looking early towards Berlin. Through the process, he was exposed to Berlin's thriving co-living scene (WG-Zimmers) but also the difficulties beyond language and time differences. After spending hours each week corresponding with potential tenants through Facebook and WG-Gesucht, he eventually found a lease with a tedious effort.
