Co-Founded by Hawthorne CA Councilman Haidar M. Awad and his younger sister Zeina M. Awad in response to the need for a facilitative organization which strategizes partnerships to mobilize resources in empowering and supporting youths and families in the communities of South Los Angeles. Working within the cities of Hawthorne, Inglewood, Lawndale, Torrance and Lennox, the Awad Foundation works cohesively with partner NGO's such as #GoodBye2Mean and Say No Bullying as well as with educational institutions, both part of the Unified School Districts and Charter Schools in association with Local Governments, private companies such as The Boring Company and SpaceX as well as most recently beginning a new relationship with the LA Chargers NFL Team in providing empowerment and engagement opportunities to communities and promoting the importance of education through STEM/STEAM experience initiatives and Annual Scholarships to deserving High School Students.The Foundation also recognizes the hard work and dedication of Law Enforcement Agencies especially Police K9 Units and works in strengthening community-police partnerships to increase civic participation for safe and more integrated communities.
