With MONO as our home base, (A)WAKE creates space for nuancedvoices and polyphonous perspectives. We strive to develop a (cultural)program close to current socio-political actualities. A program thatinitiates, rather than reacts and does not see counterculture as anexpression of consumption but appreciates it as a manifestation of itself. Ina world dominated by media and populism, we aim to move freelybetween the domains of (contemporary) art and politics. We believe deeplyin the seductive power of aesthetics and design, and connect this withsubstantive voices of counterculture to reach a wide and diverse audience.We develop cultural programs that do justice to the complexity of ourcurrent socio-political context and to the perspectives of minorities who forfar too long have been overlooked and/or tokenized by mainstreaminstitutions.
