From humble beginnings in a school classroom to the bright lights of the stage- Ayr Fort Players have become a theatrical staple, entertaining audiences across South West Scotland, since 1946. Over the years the Ayr Fort Players have built a reputation for entertaining the public with classic farces and modern dramas including; 'See How They Run', 'Move Over Mrs Markham', 'Noises Off', 'No Sex Please We're British', 'Stepping Out' & 'The Ladykillers'; Scottish comedy classics; 'The Steamie' (Tony Roper) & 'Whisky Galore' and stage productions of popular TV sitcoms 'Fawlty Towers', 'Dad's Army', 'The Vicar of Dibley'. Ayr Fort Players are currently in rehearsal for the Scottish amateur premiere of Bob Black's classic BBC sitcom 'City Lights - The Life & Death of Willie Melvin' which runs from 22nd-25th of March at The Gaiety.
